New Hope Publishers Author Mark Russell to Speak at Origins Event

(BIRMINGHAM, Ala.)—July 12, 2010—Mark Russell, author of The Missional Entrepreneur, will be speaking at the Origins event in Los Angeles, California, July 23–24. The Missional Entrepreneur takes an in-depth look at business as mission in reality with an eye for the principles and practices that can make it effective.

The inaugural Origins event will “focus on the themes of creativity, activism, and equipping as part of the mission of Jesus.”

“The average churchgoer spends 45 times as much time at work as in church,” says Mark Russell. “But research suggests that very few see a direct correlation between their faith and what they do in the workplace. However, the Bible is full of teachings and wisdom on the relevance of one’s faith and the marketplace. Our task is to apply this ancient wisdom to our contemporary work.”

Mark will be speaking on Saturday, July 24, on the topic of Missional Living in the Marketplace as well as participate in various panels.
