Be inspired to drink the deep waters of peace as you draw closer to the Father of all prodigals.

New Hope® Publishers is pleased to announce the release of Messy Journey: How Grace and Truth Offer the Prodigal a Way Home. Author and licensed parent and family educator Lori Wildenberg offers practical grace-and truth-filled ways of navigating your relationship with a detoured child—whether they are rejecting faith, dabbling in sin, or wholeheartedly embracing sinful behavior. There is hope. After all, their struggle isn’t really with you—it’s with God.

“This book is a beautiful balance of the real-life mess of loving a prodigal and the steadfast truth of God’s Word. I will be recommending this book to many in the years to come.”—Dr. Juli Slattery, cofounder, Authentic Intimacy

Messy Journey will feed your soul, give peace to your spirit, and empower you to step into the messy journey with grace and truth. You are not alone.”—Jill Savage, founder of Hearts at Home, author of 11 books, coauthor of No More Perfect Kids

“For parents whose children have broken their hearts by breaking from family values, Lori Wildenberg offers empathy, sympathy, prayerful guidance, practical advice and, most important, godly hope. Timely and nonjudgmental, Messy Journey encourages hurting parents to share the best remedy—their love.”—Patricia Raybon, author of Undivided: A Muslim Daughter, Her Christian Mother, Their Path to Peace

Lori Wildenberg understands full well the heartache and struggles of having a young person take an unexpected detour. As mom to a daughter who wrestles with her faith and identity, she personally understands what parents of kids gone astray endure. As a licensed parent and family educator, she is professionally equipped to encourage and empower parents of kids in hard places. With more than 25 years’ experience working with parents and kids in both secular and faith-based settings, her philosophy is focused on developing a child’s heart and character while creating a family system that is interdependent and dependent on God. A national speaker, Lori is a cofounder of the 1 Corinthians 13 Parenting ministry, coauthor of three parenting books, lead mentor mom for the Moms Together Facebook community, and frequent radio guest for the mom channel of Salem Media Group. The Wildenberg home is nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.
