New Hope® Publishers is pleased to announce the release of Across the Street and Around the World: Ideas to Spark Missional Focus by authors Diana Davis and Autumn Wall. Across the Street and Around the World is a practical and approachable guide to missions. Inside the pages of this book are hundreds of ideas to engage you, your family, your small group, or your church in intentional missional ministry. Intended to serve as a springboard, the ideas are carefully organized by the amount of time needed—one hour, one day, one week, or longer—helping you determine which opportunity fits you and your group best.
“From the creative pen of Diana Davis and her daughter Autumn Wall comes the book Across the Street and Around the World. This book will assist your church or small group with new and exciting ways to become more involved in missions. Read the challenge these dear ladies share with God’s people. Seek to implement the practical evangelism and missions suggestions to reach your community and the world. I am grateful for the ministry of Diana, her husband, and their family. We need people involved in missions and evangelism to reach every man, woman, boy, and girl with the gospel of Christ! Diana and Autumn provide effective and real-life ideas that can truly make a difference. God’s blessing to you as you encourage others in reaching a new level of involvement in seeing the Great Commission come to pass.” —Dr. Frank S. Page, president and chief executive officer, Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee
“Have you ever wanted to get involved in a missions project but you just didn’t know where to start? Diana Davis and her daughter Autumn Wall take the guesswork out of missions and provide hundreds of ideas to help an individual, church, or even a small group of friends get started. Be sure you read Chapter 1 first to discover the why of missions; it’s not just about doing good deeds but a response to God’s call to go. Across the Street and Around the World is filled with the most creative ideas for sharing Christ with our neighbors and communities here and all over the world.” —Wanda Lee, executive director, National Woman’s Missionary Union®
Diana Davis is considered the “ideas” lady. She understands missional living. Having served alongside her pastor husband, she has experienced missions involvement in all types of church settings—small, large, rural, city, and church plants. A prolific writer, she is the author of four books as well as hundreds of published articles for leading outlets such as Baptist Press, Rick Warren’s “Pastor’s Toolbox,” and Let’s Worship and Deacon magazines. While she holds a master of theological studies from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, it is her life-on-mission experience that Diana believes qualifies her to write with such practicality and vision. A Texas native, she and her husband, Steve, now call Florida home. They have three children and five practically perfect grandchildren.
Autumn Wall runs marathons, plays guitar, and designs websites. She’s a foster mom who loves the same things as her children: eating pizza, skateboarding, and playing in the snow. At age 11, she went on her first overseas missions trip and was hooked. A graduate of Baylor University, she serves as pastor’s wife and worship leader at the church she and her husband planted in downtown Indianapolis. Recipient of the Hoosier Hero award, Autumn is a contributing writer to Let’s Worship magazine and serves her community with her passion for Christ.
