New Hope® Publishers is pleased to announce the release of 30 Days of Hope for Joy through a Child’s Severe Illness by Gale Alexander. The devotional, the fourth title in the “Gifts of Hope” series, offers encouragement to family and friends caring for children with incurable diseases. Each devotion contains Scripture and inspiring personal stories that enable caregivers to find strength to persevere and courage to look for hope and God’s divine purposes in their own child’s life.

30 Days of Hope for Joy through a Child’s Severe Illness is a heart-wrenching and inspiring look at situations that would challenge any believer’s faith. Gale Alexander has a unique gift of weaving words together in a beautiful pattern to express the conflict of emotions that families can experience when raising a child with special health care needs. In spite of the disappointment and heartache, joy and hope come shining through every page. I wish I had the opportunity to read this book when we were raising our child with special needs.”
—Peggy Nikkel, executive director’s wife, Wyoming Southern Baptist Convention

“Alexander’s poignant writings about children with severe illnesses melt the heart! Each true story provides a portrait of a child who faces their individual challenge with youthful courage and optimism. Artful Haiku poetry delicately created by Alexander highlights the suffering and hope woven into each child’s experience. Alexander’s faith in God inspires the reader to grow in their own faith. The Bible passages she includes illuminate the essence of each story. The account of each child’s illness proves that joy can result even from the most heart-breaking of circumstances!” —Margaret Benson, the Wyoming Communication Group
