A Spiritual GPS for Caregivers
by Sandy Lovern
When parent-child roles reverse, nothing can replace wisdom seasoned with love and laughter.
Exploring options—to care for aging parents while respecting their independence—can be exhausting emotionally and physically. Lovern, who writes from experience, not only shares sound advice regarding physical mental, residential, financial, legal, relational, and the seemingly endless other issues that arise for parental caregivers. She sheds light on how to lovingly address the emotions of both the cared-for and the caregiver, adding ideas and examples that help the aging person process present changes, and that encourage caregivers to cope through future events.

About the Author
After taking care of elderly parents, Sandy Lovern realized that there are a plethora of books on the clinical aspect of taking care of loved ones; however, there are none that deal with the emotional feelings of being a caretaker. “It is a new phenomenon for the baby boomer generation and the figures are alarming as to the growing number of individuals who will inevitably find themselves in this situation,” says Sandy. Sandy’s passion for ministry has led her to give birth to a church, Faith Covenant Center, in Immokalee, Florida. Sandy has also previously written Engaged! A Devotional to Help a Bride-to-Be Navigate Down the Aisle. Sandy and her husband have successfully raised two children and now live in Mulberry, Florida.
