About the Authors

Henry BlackabyHenry T. Blackaby is the author of Experiencing God, which has sold 5 million copies and has been translated into 50 languages. He describes Called & Accountable as his sequel to that work. He is president of Blackaby Ministries International, an organization he founded to help people experience God in a more intimate way. He has served as a music director, education director, and pastor in churches in California and Canada, as well as president of Canadian Baptist Theological College for seven years and president of the Canadian Southern Baptist Conference. Dr. Blackaby went on to serve as special assistant to the president at the Home Mission Board (now North American Mission Board) of the Southern Baptist Convention in the area of prayer, revival, and spiritual awakening. He also served as special assistant to the presidents of the International Mission Board and LifeWay Christian Resources. He has provided leadership to thousands of pastors and laymen across North America and has spoken internationally in over ninety countries of the world. Dr. Blackaby lives with his wife, Marilynn, in Rex, Georgia. He has five children (Richard, Tom, Melvin, Norman, and Carrie), all of whom are serving in Christian ministry, and fourteen grandchildren.

Norman BlackabyNorman Blackaby has served as a professor of biblical studies in the Cook Graduate School of Leadership at Dallas Baptist University since 2007, teaching courses in theology, biblical studies, and leadership. Raised in a pioneer mission setting in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and Vancouver, British Columbia, Norman left Canada to attend college in the United States. He completed a degree in history from Hardin Simmons University and then went on to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he completed both a master’s of divinity with biblical languages and a PhD in biblical backgrounds and Old Testament. He has been a senior pastor of churches in Texas and Arkansas, as well as working for six years with his father as a vice-president of Blackaby Ministries International. During his time with Blackaby Ministries International, Norman created an online school for discipleship which equipped people from more than 30 countries.  In addition, he has written more than ten online classes designed to help people grow spiritually. Many of these courses were used extensively around the world by missionaries and Bible study groups. Along with his teaching responsibilities at DBU, Norman serves as an active conference and church speaker. Currently, he speaks on topics related to prayer, leadership, and discipleship. As an author, Norman Blackaby has co-written many books. Norman and his wife, Dana, currently live near Dallas along with their three children, Emily, Douglas, and Anne.
